How Our Network Works: Talking to a Provider
Who Will You Talk To?
When you reach out, you end up speaking with an independent tree service provider in the network. That is the business that would actually do the work.
Cottonracial Tree Service is the connector. The referral service does not do any tree work itself. You deal with the provider directly.
What Happens on the First Conversation?
Expect a few simple questions. Which tree is it? How tall? Is it near the house, a fence or a power line? Is it dead, leaning or damaged by wind?
Photos can help. A provider may offer to look at the tree in person before giving a written quote. That is normal for tree work, since size and access change the job.
What Should You Ask?
Not sure what to say? Try these.
- Do you hold the licenses and insurance this job needs?
- Does the quote include cleanup and hauling?
- Is stump grinding part of the price, or separate?
- How will you protect my roof, fence and lawn?
- What is the likely timing, and what could change it?
- Can I have the quote in writing?
Typical U.S. tree removal prices vary a lot by size, access and risk, so a written quote matters more than a rough guess.
What About Storm Situations?
If a tree came down in a storm, say so up front. Emergency tree removal and storm tree clearance are often handled differently from planned jobs. Many providers can respond quickly, but availability depends on how busy the area is.
If damage reached your home, ask the provider whether they can help document it for a claim. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy.
You Are in Control
Contacting a provider does not lock you into anything. You can ask questions, compare more than one quote and take your time. You decide who to hire, if anyone.
A good provider explains things clearly and does not rush you. If something feels off, it is fine to say no and ask someone else.

Spotting the problem early is the hard part, and you have already done that. Take the next step when you are ready.
Or send a request and let a provider reach out to you. Request a callback to check provider availability.
